Road Test

S.P. is on the road and has four different pairs of polarized sunglasses in hand. Gorgeous fall weather provides an opportunity to put these lenses to the test. The verdict: in alphabetical order, Costa, Oakley, Smirh ChromaPop, and Zeal all speak the truth when they spout about the quality of their polarized lenses. S.P. Is seeing clearly on the road, and the reason we carry these--and other excellent brands--are because they help us offer you a perfect view.

Yours in shades,

S.P.

While we don't recommend placing your lenses face down on any surface,
S.P. sure enjoys the creativity of the artist who created these oversize frames!

Let's talk vintage...and classic

Do you have a pair (or two) of sunglasses from your past hiding somewhere in your home?  Bring them out!  Clean them up, and walk out your door in them today.  If they are colorful, let them shine and keep your clothing low-key.  If they are dramatic, do the same.  If they are classic, wear them with anything!

Shown at left are vintage Dior and Pucci sunglasses from the collection of Selima Salaun.

Crafted

S.P. truly loves sunglasses.  And, we get excited about new frames and lenses that rock our world.  Zeal has done just that by adding three new metals to their yummy Crafted Collection.  Pairing stainless steel with Japanese wood and polarized lenses (not to mention a suede case), the results are Fairmont, Draper, and Barstow. And they will be available from Sunglass Panache this week.  S.P. can't wait...

Case in Point

We really do love matching frames to faces--and we are pretty darn good at it, too. Case in point, Mills expertly chose Baby Beach from Maui Jim for Caroline's petite and pretty noggin. Judging by her smile, Caroline agrees.

One noggin; four frames

What a difference a frame can make!  One of these is a definite "NO,"
but with the correct gradient or dark lenses, the rest work.

The Shape of Customers to Come

7/29/2014

S.P. relishes discovering new sunglasses and imagining
the profile of the customer who may wear them. And,
while we are quite adept (if we do say so ourselves) at
matching frame shapes to face shapes, we are often
surprised by who can't live without which pair of sunglasses.
Frame color is a big influencer as is the weather.   The sunny
yellow Samoa below would likely appeal to many in early Spring.
Would you surprise us with your choice?  Would you
surprise yourself?

Yours in shades,
S.P.

We know how much you love your Costa Del Mar mirrored, glass lenses.  But, do you want to ski in them?  Now, Costa Del Mar has mirrored technology in their 580P plastic lenses as well--no longer limiting you to ambers and grays in a plastic lens.  Rejoice!

Yours in in mirrored 580P,
S.P.

It's great to be fifty-something--and Persol feels the same way.  Digging into their archives, Persol brings back four colors from 1960.  Classic, like you.

We loved receiving this post card from a friend (and customer).  She said it reminded her of us.  Some of us do have long necks and noses, but we hope she thought of us because of the shades!  And, what are our thoughts on the frame shape for this flock?  We applaud the wayfarer style as it widens the narrow faces and provides ample protection from the Florida sun!

Yours in shades,
S.P.
